These diamond recovery machines are designed to sort WET or DRY diamondiferous material and are built to be used under virtually any conditions.

Our sorters are built for permanent as well as mobile installations. Some are operating on river mining barges and others on marine diamond mining vessels!

INTRODUCING FFXR 8/75 DW BULK SORTER
DESIGNED FOR HIGH VOLUME, LARGE MATERIAL SIZES

Our FFXR 8/75  Bulk Sorter comprises 4 independent feed channels.

FEED CHANNELS CAN BE INDEPENDENTLY SET UP and CONTROLLED.

 

The sorter design allows a set of 2 channels being serviced whilst the other 2 channels remain fully in operation.

This feature  REDUCES DOWNTIME FOR MAINTENANCE!

 

FFXR 8/75 DW Sorters are fitted with a FLOW SORT optical scanning system which was specifically designed to reduce yield and to enhance low luminescent diamond recovery efficiency.

Flow Sort lightning and surge protection units, phase failure detection, and voltage stabilizer units, specifically designed and selected for FLOW SORT™ products, are available as optional extras.

SORTER FEED MATERIAL MUST BE  “CLEAN” ie FREE OF CLAY, SLIME, VEGETATION and FOREIGN OBJECTS

Minimum SIZE:   Minimum size limit   6mm / Recommended Minimum  8mm

 Maximum SIZE: recommended maximum  75mm

NO dimension may exceed 100mm

 

FEED MATERIAL MUST BE PRESENTED IN APPROPRIATE SIZE-RANGES, FREE OF UNDERSIZED and OVERSIZED MATERIAL.

PARTICLE SIZE RATIO:         FLOW recommends not exceeding a particle size ratio of 3:1.

 

TYPICAL SIZE SPLITS: 

+ 8mm – 20mm,  + 20mm – 32mm +32mm – 50mm, +50mm – 75mm

 d    =     AVERAGE PARTICLE DIAMETER OF THE SIZE FRACTION BEING SORTED in   mm

 SC =      “SORTER CONSTANT” This value varies with sorter configuration and application.

SC values for FFXR 8/75 BULK SORTERS  are typically 1000, but vary with sorter application

 SF =      “SHAPE FACTOR” = average particle volume expressed as a portion of a sphere with diameter “d”.

If the average particle volume approx 60% of that of a sphere with the same diameter this value  = 0,6

 sg. = AVERAGE SPECIFIC GRAVITY OF FEED MATERIAL (g/cm3)

 

YIELD:              

Each ejection will generate approximately 0,00024 % of the sorter’s federate FR   (2,4 x 10-6 FR)

 

RECOVERY EFFICIENCY:

Diamond recovery efficiency is influenced by many factors such as feed rate, feed material particle size ratio, feed material temperature, feed material contamination with fines and dirt, and so on.

The total luminescence emitted by a diamond by exposing it to X-ray radiation, varies most importantly with the X-ray exposure time, with its colour and transparency, impurities such as nitrogen, boron etc.
